Artist Statement
As an artist, I have always been drawn to the simplicity and beauty of forms in nature as reflected in the things we create, but especially to the traditional as in the Japanese approach to clay—the asymmetry and muted forms and tones of a cup or bowl, useful and beautiful to last for centuries from an humble lump of earth.
